Overview
We're excited to let you know about a new feature coming to your tutor dashboard: the ability to request additional students, right from the Student section!
This feature is rolling out gradually over August 2026, so you may not see it on your dashboard right away. If it's not there yet, it's on its way.
Before you start Checklist
- Your availability is up to date
- You have enough open time slots for the students you want to add
- The total number of students you're requesting is greater than your current number of students
Step-by-step
Step 1: Login to your Tutor Portal.
Step 2: Update your availability if needed.
Step 3: Under the Student Section, click "Request Additional Students."
Step 4: Confirmation.
Once submitted, you will see a note indicating that "You are currently in the matching pool."
When to use this
Use this feature any time you're ready and able to take on more students. It replaces emailing us directly to ask for additional students. Clicking the button now automatically starts that process and begins the search to match you with a new student!
When not to use this
This feature is only for requesting students on top of the ones you already have. For anything else, please contact us directly at tutorsupport@stepuptutoring.org instead of using this button. For example, if you have a question or concern about a current student or you need to drop a student before taking on a new one, please email us.
FAQ
What happens after I click the button?
Your request kicks off the matching process; you'll be notified once you're matched.
How long until I'm matched with a new student?
This can vary depending on our current student demand and the time of year.
Can I undo a request?
You can email us at tutorsupport@stepuptutoring if you no longer wish to me matched with additional students.
I don't see the button on my dashboard yet, why not?
