When you first join a tutoring session, you’ll arrive in the Lobby — a virtual “waiting area” where you can set up your tech before the lesson begins.
What is the Lobby?
The Lobby gives you a chance to:
Test your microphone and camera
Grant browser permissions for audio and video
Get settled before starting your session
This ensures both you and your student have a smooth experience once the session begins.
Setting Up Your Microphone and Camera
Click the buttons next to the microphone and camera icons
If your browser shows a pop-up asking for permission, select “Allow”
Once your mic and camera are working, you’ll see yourself on-screen and be ready to begin
Tip: If the mic or camera isn’t working, double-check your browser settings or refresh the page.
Joining the Session
After you’ve completed setup:
Click “Join” to enter the session

You will then be prompted to grant your student access to join as well
Click “Allow” or “Admit” to let them into the session
You’ll need to admit your student each time you start a new session.
