You don’t need any prior tutoring experience to get started — just a passion for helping students succeed! Step Up Tutoring provides all the training and resources you'll need to feel confident and prepared.
Location Requirement
Currently, the Step Up Tutoring program is only open to individuals residing in the United States.
This ensures compliance with program requirements and supports safe, consistent access to our virtual tutoring platform.
Time Commitment
Tutors are expected to:
Meet with their student twice a week, during both the school year and summer
Commit to at least 2 hours per week
(Each session is approximately 45 minutes)Serve for a minimum of 3 months
This consistent schedule helps build strong, trusting relationships and meaningful academic progress.
Steps to Get Started
To become a Step Up Tutor, you’ll need to:
Sign a waiver
Complete a 20-minute video interview with a Step Up team member
Attend a live training (2 hours total)
Submit a background check
Once you complete these steps, you’ll be ready to get matched with a student!
