If you or your student experience lag, video freezing, or poor audio quality during a session, the issue is likely related to internet connection strength or network usage. Below are steps to help improve connection stability and prevent disruptions during tutoring.
Minimum Internet Requirements
To use the Learning Portal smoothly:
-
Download speed: at least 5 Mbps
-
Upload speed: at least 3 Mbps
-
For screen sharing: upload speed of 4 Mbps or more is recommended
You can check your internet speed at www.fast.com

Tips to Improve Connection Quality
-
Move closer to your Wi-Fi router
A stronger signal results in better video and audio quality. -
Close unnecessary tabs and applications
Especially those using the internet (e.g., streaming sites, cloud backups). -
Limit household internet use during your session
Ask others to pause video streaming, online gaming, or large downloads. -
Use a wired connection if possible
Plugging your computer directly into the router can improve reliability.

What to Avoid During Your Lesson
-
Avoid downloading or uploading large files
-
Try not to run updates or streaming services in the background
