As you accrue tutoring hours, these hours will be counted, saved, and visible to you in your tutoring account. Over time, you may be promoted based on your tutoring hours! The following promotions are available at the following thresholds: 

1. <25 hours of tutoring = Tutor/Mentor
2. 25-100 hours of tutoring = Advanced Tutor/Mentor
3. 100+ hours of tutoring = Senior Tutor/Mentor

Once you have tutored these amounts, you’ll automatically see your hours and title at the top of your Tutor Portal. You can then include your title on your resume, LinkedIn, or anywhere else you report your work and volunteer history. Additionally, you are welcome to share this information on social media. We’ve shared an example post for your convenience!

Hi everyone! I have been tutoring and mentoring a [grade] grader in [math/reading] named [name] through Step Up Tutoring. I recently earned the title of [title] by tutoring for [25/100] hours. Step Up provides free, online tutoring and mentorship to students from under-served communities. This non-profit organization helps provide the academic and emotional support they need.
