Introduction
Hello families, We are excited for your student to start using our new Learning Portal! This new space will be how your student and their tutor connect online for tutoring sessions and will replace Zoom.
Starting June 1st, your Zoom meeting link will no longer work and you will start hosting your tutoring session in the new Learning Portal. Please follow the step-by-step instructions below to get your student set up to use the Learning Portal.
I. Confirm Your Device Requirements
Recommended Devices:
- Chromebooks
- Windows laptop or desktop
- Mac laptop or desktop
- Android tablets
You can also access tutoring on an iPad, however not all features will work properly, so we suggest using one of the recommended devices above if you can.
II. Confirm Your Browser Requirements
Please make sure you are using an updated version of one of the following browsers for your devices:

III. Update Your Browser
Please follow the below steps to ensure you have your browser updated for tutoring!
Google Chrome - How to Update Browser
To update Google Chrome:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
.
- Click Help
About Google Chrome.

Click Update Google Chrome.
- Important: If you can't find this button, you're on the latest version.
- Click Relaunch.

Safari - How to Update Browser
To update Safari on Mac, update macOS.
- Open the Apple menu in the corner of your screen
- Choose System Settings
- Click General in the sidebar of the window that opens
- Click Software Update on the right.
To update Safari on iPhone or iPad, update iOS or iPadOS.
- Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
- Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
- If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
- Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.
Firefox - How to Update Browser
To update Firefox:
- Launch Firefox. ...

Once your Firefox browser has been updated, it will show a green checkmark and the notice that "Firefox is up to date".
IV. Start a Tutoring Session
Students should click the link shared by their tutor, or provided in the match email.
If the page looks like below, click “Enter Tutoring Session” to begin tutoring.
If the page asks you to login with a tutoring code, please enter the code provided in the message from your Tutor, or in your match email or text.
Once you enter, you will be prompted to enable the camera and microphone:
- Make sure the camera and microphone buttons are turned on.
- Click "Allow" on any pop-ups asking for permission for this website to access the camera and microphone
Students will then be let in to enjoy their tutoring session!
