To help you start strong, Step Up provides Opening Lessons that walk you through your first two tutoring sessions. These guides include structured activities to help you get to know your student, establish a routine, and introduce tutoring expectations in a fun, supportive way.

Follow the slide deck based on your student’s grade level and subject:

Math Grades 2-4

How to Access the Opening Lessons Guide

Follow the steps below to access the guide in the Learning Portal:

Step 1: Open the Cobrowser

• Make sure your video mode is set to Floating Video.
• Click the whiteboard icon to open a new whiteboard space.
• Click the folder icon on the top menu to open the Library panel.

Step 2: Open your student's Session Guide

• Click the icon with 2 squares at the top of your Learning Portal to copy the link to the session guide
• Paste it into the Cobrowser

Step 3: Click the Action Items Section

• Under Action Items, you will a link to the appropriate Opening Lesson for your student during your first session
• You can use this for sessions 1 and 2, then dismiss the action item when complete
